Roles and Responsibilities
- Service and Maintenance
- Diagnosis with troubleshooting and repair wind turbines as directed and prepare and maintain proper documentation to support the repairs, to include parts usage and time worked.
- Interact with onsite maintenance sub-contractors and provide guidance and training when applicable.
- Write timely and concise reports regarding inspections to insure proper steps are taken to remedy any deficiencies.
- Conduct quality control inspections on repairs and maintenance functions provided by maintenance or repair sub-contractors.
- Assist in the operations and maintenance of the company’s wind turbine plants, minimizing downtime and timely maintenance and implementing maintenance methodology and procedures
- Working on all aspects of the wind system including turbines, controls and ancillary support equipment; mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Ensure compliance to legal and company legislation / procedures;
- Implementation of maintenance according to manufacturer specifications;
- Issues progress, efficiency and technical overview reports to management as required;
- Review related manuals, blueprints and schematic diagrams to determine the tasks, tools, equipment and parts needed to maintain a highly automated system
Qualification(s), Experience and Personal Skills
Qualification(s) and Experience
- Qualification – Mechanical / Electronic or mechanical / electrotechnical training
- Type of Training
- Electronics technician for industrial engineering/plant engineering (or similar) / Mechatronics engineer, locksmith (or similar)
- Service technician for wind turbines or at least 3 years of professional experience in the mechanical field
- Relevant professional Experience:
- Service technician for wind turbines or at least 3 years of professional experience in the mechanical field
- Wind Turbine technology:
- Knowledge of the functionality and operation of a wind turbine
- Software: Understanding of the relevant the software for operating wind turbines
- Communicative and social skills:
- Factual and professional confidence, ability to work in a team
- Organizational skills:
- Independent work on the wind turbines within the organizational structure
- Argumentation behavior:
- Constructive communication within the team and with other departments (especially when solving technical problems of a wind turbine)
- Performance orientation:
- Structured, analytical approach
- Flexibility:
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness to work on assembly
- On-call duties on weekends and public holidays
- Customer focus:
- Confident, professional and friendly demeanor towards customers
